New Year, New Student Information System Milestone
Digital Transformation team continues to make progress

With 2023 at a close, the DX team is proud to share the team’s progress.

The multi-year Student Information System (SIS) project includes several phases and is composed of cross-functional expertise with representation from Offices of Student Financial ServicesAdmissions and AidAcademic Advising, and the Registrar.

With collaboration and input from faculty and staff, the team completed initial configuration of integrations of the future SIS and all areas of the project (e.g., reporting, records, security, and more). During the Configure phase, current processes were assessed and measured against industry best practices to outline improvement opportunities prior to configuring final processes into Workday. Project functional leads and subject matter experts had the opportunity to showcase this important work to an expanded project governance team. Future opportunities will be available for members of the campus community to engage with the project team as upcoming sessions are planned.

Looking ahead, here’s what to expect this year. For the full timeline of phases through 2025, visit the project website.

Summer 2024, TestFall 2024, Test
User scenarios, permissions, security, and configuration is ready for end-to-end testing.Testing will be performed by members of the campus community to walk through  “day-in-the-life” functionality during User Readiness Review and Mock Semester. Training will begin during this phase.

Testing is critical to the success of the SIS implementation especially when the team conducts the “day-in-the-life” functionality. If you would like to be involved in testing, please contact transform@lfkgw.com. Your hands-on participation and feedback is appreciated as the team works to develop the optimal SIS for faculty, staff, and students.

This is one of the most significant technological changes Trinity has undertaken in the past two decades since the implementation of Colleague. The project is complex, but it is one that impacts our entire Trinity community so we hope that you continue to stay informed and engaged alongside the project team.

You can visit the project website for more project details.

If faculty, staff, or students have questions, feedback, or would like to engage as a tester, please contact transform@lfkgw.com or reach out to any member of the core SIS project team.
